Apsrtc Bus Pass

The full form of Apsrtc is Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation which is a government transport corporation managed by the Andhra Pradesh state authority. This service was first started in 1958 (64 years ago) and is continuing to provide servicing to the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Apsrtc is not only operational in Andhra Pradesh state, but it also provides services in neighboring towns in Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Odisha, Yanam, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh. 

Currently, Apsrtc operates 14000+ buses daily and every day more than 50 lakhs people use Apsrtc transport to reach their destination. Among the daily passengers, most of the people are students who take buses to go to their schools, college, and educational institute. 

This is why the Andhra Pradesh government decided to launch an Apsrtc bus pass for students studying in various sectors. 

Benefits of Apsrtc

As per the Andhra Pradesh Bus pass policy, all the students below the age of 12 years are free to travel across the bus station from their residence to school up to a maximum of 20 km of range.

This is the first step taken by the Andhra Pradesh government to enhance the importance of education for children.

Additionally, Girl students studying in class 10th or below have implemented free travel facilities up to the age of 18 years. Irrespective of the students studying in government institutes or private registered schools. The only thing is that students have verified their age through a Date of Birth certificate signed by the Head of the School or institute.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. A person must be a permanent resident of Andhra Pradesh.
  2. The Applicant should be a student.

  • A valid Aadhaar card with complete DOB.
  • Address proof. 
  • Passport size photograph
  • Student Email ID & Mobile Number.
  • Additionally, the Parent's Income source and family ration card.

How to Apply for Apsrtc Bus Pass

There are two ways through which you can make your bus pass:

  1. Online
  2. Offline

Apsrtc Bus Pass Online Process

Online procedure is a more convenient and time-saving process. You only need all your documents in soft copy format and a laptop or pc with a working internet connection. You can apply for the online bus pass from anywhere and at any time.

  1. First, you have to visit the official website of Apsrtc or type https://apsrtcpass.in/ in the address bar.
  2. Once you reach the homepage, the next step is to find the Apply Online for Student Bus Pass option.
  3. Click on the link and it will redirect you to the fresh registration page.
  4. Now here, you have to fill up a form carefully. As just a minute mistake can reject your application and you have to follow the offline process.
  5. Choose the option Student pass above SSC or Student pass below SSC.
  6. Now you have to enter the following details:
    1. Student information
    2. Address 
    3. School information
    4. Travel route
  7. At last, click on submit.
  8. Now a confirmation window will appear, check the details again and copy your temporary ID card number.
  9. Take a printout of the application form and submit it to the bus station office along with an aadhaar card and student id card or admission slip.

See, the online process is quite easy to apply even a child can apply for the bus pass for themself. The only thing you have to check is that all your personal information should be correct.

To apply for the offline process you have to follow the below steps:

Offline Process 

The process is quite similar to the online process, the only difference is you have to collect an application form from the bus depot office.

Sometimes, due to the lack of an application form, it is hard to collect it from the office. In such a scenario you can download the application form from the website.

Then enter your information manually and paste a passport-size photograph and submit it to the office along with an aadhaar card and student ID card.
