The government of Karnataka has started the Online BMTC Bus Pass facility. They are initiating the BMTC Bus pass system, Honorable Chief Minister B.S.Yediyurappa. said that around 20 – 25 lakh BMTC passes were made in 365 days. Among these passes, 10 – 15 lakh are Student Passes.

Significant changes are made from the last year to enhance the transport facility system. New Application MyBMTC Mobile App is introducing for the people to track the bus from their smart device. In the coming time, the government wants a smart card to be fully implemented for public transport by 2021.

BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) has been made online in the last year, and people benefit from it. This is the first time when a BMTC pass is available online.

It includes all route passes, Airport route, Bangalore to airport route, and the Bangalore city route. The Transport Minister said that the students have to get the document verified by the school principal for all the school going students.

How to apply for BMTC Bus Pass
BMTC smart bus pass card is a unique card where student names and photographs are available. Every bus pass has a different application number written on the receipt and the individual electronic bar code.
The bar code on the pass has all the information of the person related to the person’s source and destination. It includes all the necessary information in it like:

- Date of Birth
- Address

- The Next Step is to enter from any options like SAT/PU enrollment no or State board admission number. Both the numbers should be unique; otherwise, you will face problems forward.
- If you don’t have your admission number or if you have forgotten your admission number, you can request a new one at your institution.
- Enter your Institution details like school/ college/ In Which Year you are/ Etc.
- Once you have entered all the information correctly, you will receive OTP (One-time password) on your registered Mobile number or Email address.
- Now your application is successfully submitted.
After submitting the name, father’s name, date of birth, and other information, your recent photo will have to be uploaded on the portal.
- The PIN code, email, and mobile number should be mandatory, and all the information share should be correct and up to date about the pass, and details will be shared with BMTC.

Check Status of your BMTC Bus pass
- Now once you have applied for the bus pass, the next thing is to check the status. To check the status, you have to visit the official website and check on Online Services.

- However, you will get a receipt when you have successfully submitted your application.
- You have to wait for approval from the institution/BMTC Office. (an official message will be sent to your registered email address/ mobile number)
- Visit the official website.
- Visit the Student pass option.
- Click on the check status of your application at the bottom of your screen.
- Bus pass Status.
- Enter the application number that you have received on your mobile number.

- After approval notification receives on your number, the Next step is to book an appointment.
- You have to go to the payment gateway and pay by debit, credit card, or net banking. After payment, a confirmation will be send through message and email.
How to Book Appointment for BMTC bus pass
You have to Book an Appointment by visiting the official website https://www.mybmtc.karnataka.gov.in/english. You can apply for an appointment at any time within 24 hours.

On getting successful notification of approval next step is to book appointment. Enter all the necessary details on the website.
- On the website Enter your application number received on your mobile or email.
- Choose the date whenever you are free for the appointment.
- Make sure to check all your relevant information again.
- Click On Send OTP button.
- Enter OTP and your Appointment is now book.
After Schedule and reschedule, you have to visit the nearest BMTC office on a specific date mention in your receipt. There your digital signature and photograph will take to attach it with the pass.
